Donald Trump Mocks Reporter Then Mocks Meryl Streep

January 9, 2017 by The Staff Leave a Comment

The President-elect of the United States “bullying” US citizens.  Shameful!

Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn’t know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a…..

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 9, 2017

New York Times, “Ms. Streep’s artful denunciation of Mr. Trump — whom she never mentioned by name — drew applause from many other actors at the Globes ceremony, but also attacks online from the president-elect’s allies, like Sean Hannity, as well as some Republicans, like Meghan McCain, who are critical of Mr. Trump but see Hollywood liberals as only emboldening his supporters.”[2]

New York Times, “Even a holiday known for its good cheer, it seems, could not dull Mr. Trump’s penchant for doling out taunts and insults via Twitter.”[2]

Yes, Churches Can Help Fight the Trump Administration

December 29, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

Read and join groups like Faithful America – Love They Neighbor – No Exceptions. [1]

Faithful American, “Faithful America is the largest and fastest-growing online community of Christians putting faith into action for social justice. Our members are sick of sitting by quietly while Jesus’ message of good news is hijacked by the religious right to serve a hateful political agenda. We’re organizing the faithful to challenge such extremism and renew the church’s prophetic role in building a more free and just society.”[2]

Seven Deadly Sins

December 26, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

American Newsx, “Evangelicals, the most devout of said Christians, are falling at the feet of Donald J. Trump. Four of the biggest evangelical leaders, the Rev. Franklin Graham, Pastor Joel Osteen, Jerry Falwell, Jr. and Pastor Robert Jeffries of Texas, have personally endorsed Trump. Evangelical Christians are filling up his rallies and lashing out at peaceful protesters. Do they not see that this false prophet is a walking, talking, breathing example of the “seven deadly sins” of pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed and sloth? Spiritual leaders through the ages have warned Christians to avoid these sins at all costs or be “in peril of damnation after death.” “[1]

Queerty, “Here are some prime examples of how Trump illustrates the worst vices in the Christian tradition, mostly in his own words.”[2]

Is This the Real Kellyann Conway?

December 23, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

CNN, “Donald Trump says he’s for the little guy, but he’s actually built a lot of his businesses on the back of the little guy and has a history of not paying contractors after they built something for him.  The little guys have suffered because of Trump.”[1]

Media Matters, “Conway: Trump “Says He’s For The Little Guy But He’s Actually Built A Lot Of His Businesses On The Backs Of The Little Guy.” Conway stated that Trump had “actually built a lot of his business on the backs of the little guy” and has a history of “not paying contractors after [they have helped him] build something,” adding that “the little guys have suffered” because of Trump. Trump the Demagogue?

December 21, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

Salon, “Apparently, Trump’s voters do not care about his lies and how he has already betrayed his promises to them before taking office. His voters, like other Republicans, are stuck in an echo chamber where conservatism is a type of religion and lies are transformed into truths: In this bizarro world Trump has a mandate to lead the country and is immensely popular and widely respected.” [1]

Kuwait – Trump Conflict of Interest

December 20, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

Think Progress, “The Embassy of Kuwait allegedly cancelled a contract with a Washington, D.C. hotel days after the presidential election, citing political pressure to hold its National Day celebration at the Trump International Hotel instead.”[1]

Congressman Jim McGovern (D-MA) Letter criticizes the Trump Organization for such a private dealing with a repressive government.[2]

China Calls Trump an Ignorant Child

December 12, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

CNN Reports:

The language used by the Global Times newspaper, a provocative but state-sanctioned tabloid, went much further in its criticism of Trump. In a Monday [December 12, 2016] editorial, it described the President-elect as a “child” ignorant of foreign policy and ruled out negotiations on the “one China” issue. [1]

The Washington Post Reports:

The remark elicited an angry response from Beijing, with the Foreign Ministry expressing “serious concern” and a party-controlled newspaper calling the president-elect “as ignorant as a child.” By appearing to treat Taiwan as just a bargaining chip for trade deals, he may also have irked Taipei, experts said. Trump With Horns?

National Park Service Block Protest Permits

December 9, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

ProtestorsThe 1st Admendment doesn’t seem to apply to Donald Trump.

Protest at Trump’s inauguration are being block by Trump’s own Presidential Inauguration Committee.

That’s because the National Park Service, working on behalf of Trump’s Presidential Inauguration Committee, has reserved almost all of Washington D.C.’s iconic public protest spaces–large parts of the National Mall, Lincoln Memorial, and Washington Monument–for Trump’s inauguration, effectively blocking activists from getting their own permits. [2]

Even the international press is looking at the United States nazi like policies to block the 1st Amendment.

That move has left at least a dozen protest groups without prime venues, a violation of Americans’ constitutional rights, fund officials said. The Lincoln Memorial is a symbolic reminder as the site of 1960s protests for civil rights and against the Vietnam War. [1]

Hundreds of thousands of people from across the country plan to pour into the nation’s capital to protest Donald Trump’s inauguration in late January. But the National Park Service has reserved most of D.C.’s iconic public spaces for the exclusive use of Trump’s Inaugural Committee, not just on Inauguration Day itself but for the weeks leading up to and following the ceremony. Protest groups will have no access to these spaces unless the Committee voluntarily gives up their permits, which they have no incentive to do.[4]

ABC News is reporting:

Attorney Mara Verheyden-Hilliard of the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund — who has successfully litigated on behalf of protesters in Washington for more than a decade — threatened legal action against the park service if it does not rescind a permit the agency itself took out to block groups from using land around the White House and the National Mall for demonstrations.

The park service historically reserves space for use by the Presidential Inaugural Committee, but Verheyden-Hilliard said the denial of protest permits has gone too far this time and is unconstitutional.

“This is public land. This land belongs to all of us. The park service’s role is only to act as a neutral administrator and steward of public land,” she said. “They have done a massive land grab, to the detriment of all those who want to engage in free speech activities.” [5]

Huge Trump protest planned for Inauguration Day. Is there protest organized in your town yet?If not,get organizing! https://t.co/0ZnKjlQsb7

— The DJT Resistance (@TheDJTR) December 6, 2016

But it appears that some groups do have the ear of the National Park Service causing some folks to wonder whether the NPS is serving all citizens.

Groups planning to protest President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration next month monopolized the National Park Service permits to use public spaces around Washington during the event — until Bikers for Trump showed up. [6]
