Trump’s Tweet – Childish and Undignified

December 31, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

… and this is going to be our President.

NBC News, “As 2016 comes to a close, world leaders appear just as eager to start fresh in the new year. President-elect Donald Trump, however, couldn’t let this year go without taking another dig at his critics.”[1]

New York Times, “Even a holiday known for its good cheer, it seems, could not dull Mr. Trump’s penchant for doling out taunts and insults via Twitter.”[2]

Yes, Churches Can Help Fight the Trump Administration

December 29, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

Read and join groups like Faithful America – Love They Neighbor – No Exceptions. [1]

Faithful American, “Faithful America is the largest and fastest-growing online community of Christians putting faith into action for social justice. Our members are sick of sitting by quietly while Jesus’ message of good news is hijacked by the religious right to serve a hateful political agenda. We’re organizing the faithful to challenge such extremism and renew the church’s prophetic role in building a more free and just society.”[2]

Rockette Dancers Are Being Force to Perform At Inauguration

December 24, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

Hollywood Reporter, “The union representing the famed Radio City troupe ruled any boycott of the Jan. 20 event as “invalid” and that all full-time dancers were “obligated” to work.”[1]

If they don’t perform, their union says they will be terminated.  Now isn’t that a kick in the pants.

Broadway World, “BroadwayWorld has obtained and confirmed the authenticity of an email sent from the American Guild of Variety Artists to what appears to be Rockettes in its membership as a response to the announcement that some Rockettes do not want to participate in the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. The email reads: “We have received an email from a Rockette expressing concern about getting “involved in a dangerous political climate” but I must remind you that you are all employees, and as a company, Mr. Dolan obviously wants the Rockettes to be represented at our country’s Presidential inauguration, as they were in 2001 & 2005. Any talk of boycotting this event is invalid, I’m afraid.””[2]  Read the full email from their union at Broadway World.

Is This the Real Kellyann Conway?

December 23, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

CNN, “Donald Trump says he’s for the little guy, but he’s actually built a lot of his businesses on the back of the little guy and has a history of not paying contractors after they built something for him.  The little guys have suffered because of Trump.”[1]

Media Matters, “Conway: Trump “Says He’s For The Little Guy But He’s Actually Built A Lot Of His Businesses On The Backs Of The Little Guy.” Conway stated that Trump had “actually built a lot of his business on the backs of the little guy” and has a history of “not paying contractors after [they have helped him] build something,” adding that “the little guys have suffered” because of Trump. From the February 10 edition of CNN Newsroom with Carol Costello…”[2]

Thousands Apply For Obama Care Before Potential Repeal by the Republicans

December 22, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

Los Angeles Times, “But repealing the ACA is one thing, improving the U.S. healthcare system quite another. The current GOP strategy will almost certainly make millions of Americans worse off than they are today, and even worse off than they were before the ACA (better known as “Obamacare”) was passed. Yet Republicans are so hell-bent to repeal one of President Obama’s signal achievements that they’re ignoring the catastrophe they could create.” [3]

Kuwait – Trump Conflict of Interest

December 20, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

Think Progress, “The Embassy of Kuwait allegedly cancelled a contract with a Washington, D.C. hotel days after the presidential election, citing political pressure to hold its National Day celebration at the Trump International Hotel instead.”[1]

Congressman Jim McGovern (D-MA) Letter criticizes the Trump Organization for such a private dealing with a repressive government.[2]

A scan of the actual invite is posted below.

Hitler and Trump

November 15, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

Hugo Schwyzer, “…Perhaps Trump will be a better leader than we thought. The burden is entirely on him to prove that his campaign was an act, and that he and his followers pose no threat to women and minorities. Until then, suspicion. Until then, fear. Until then, anger. …”  Read the Full Post at Times of Israel

Finally on November 22, 2016, Trump says, “I don’t want to energize the group, and I disavow the group” in an interview with the New York Times.  Not a peep, though, from Trump’s Twitter account which seems his main source of disseminating news.

Think Progress points a finger at CNN for inaccurately broadening the meaning of “disavow”.  Trumps carefully worded response to the New York Times interview said nothing about denouncing racism.  CNN completely misreported the quote by showing a full screen graphic saying that Trump did just that.

racism

Words DO matter when the media is trying to report the facts.

Ted Cruz’s Opinion of Donald Trump

July 21, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

Ted Cruz, “Donald Trump deceived thousands of hard-working men and women looking to make a better life for themselves.  In exchange for their support, he promised them they would win.  Instead, Trump misled them and left them in debt.  Donald Trump has a long history of defrauding others to make himself richer.”

Republicans Endorse Misuse of God’s Name With Prayer

July 19, 2016 by The Staff Leave a Comment

Think Progress writes, “Even before he finished, Mark Burns’ prayer sparked fierce criticism on social media from liberal and conservative Christians alike. Yahoo News senior editor and storied religion reporter Amy Sullivan called it “the most explicitly partisan prayer heard at a major party convention in modern times.” Eric Teetsel, former faith outreach director for Marco Rubio’s campaign, tweeted that it was “shameful,” saying it was “a disgusting and disturbing misuse of God’s name and lies.” And the Interfaith Alliance, a group that “celebrates religious freedom,” released a sharply worded statement condemning the prayer.”

Mark Burns is a preacher that preaches money and wealth from the pulpit.

The Interfaith Alliance raises concerns about partisan benediction at the Republican National Convention.

The verbatim of the “prayer”:

Hello Republicans! I’m Pastor Mark Burns from the great state of South Carolina! I’m going to pray and I’m going to give the benediction. And you know why? Because we are electing a man in Donald Trump who believes in the name of Jesus Christ. And Republicans, we got to be united because our enemy is not other Republicans — but is Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party.

Let’s pray together. Father God, in the name of Jesus, Lord we’re so thankful for the life of Donald Trump. We’re thankful that you are guiding him, the you are giving him the words to unite this party, this country, that we together can defeat the liberal Democratic Party, to keep us divided and not united. Because we are the United States of America, and we are the conservative party under God.

To defeat every attack that comes against us, to protect the life of Donald Trump, give him the words, give him the space, give him the power and the authority to be the next President of the United States of America, in Jesus’ name — if you believe it, shout Amen!

The benediction at today’s #RNC was the most blasphemous prayer I’ve ever witnessed. #markburns #RNC2016 https://t.co/msMcZR0Rit
